MSWL: We would love to see stories that include a speculative element (such as time travel or odd/special/superhuman ability). Send us post apocalyptic, dystopian, retellings, horror, soft sci fi, contemporary and historical fantasy. No matter the genre, we are open to and would love to see books with diversity (BIPOC, Neuro/Dis, and LGBTQIA+ rep). We are not the right team for second world or high fantasy, far future or space opera, nor any of the punks (cyber, steam, etc). No hard sci, romance (paranormal or otherwise), or erotica (a romantic sub plot is fine).
Yvette Yun is an English professor in Honolulu. She has a BA in English and East Asian Studies from Colby College, an MFA in Creative Writing from Emerson College, where she wrote her first memoir, and a PhD in Creative Writing from Bath Spa University, where she wrote her first novel. She is a 2017 #RevPit runner-up, 2019 Pitch Wars mentee, 2021 The Word mentee, and successfully received offers of representation participating in #DVpit in 2017 and 2019. She has mentored authors for the Write Team Mentorship Program, Author Mentor Match, DVmentor, Pitch Wars, and Write Hive.
Marith Zoli has a degree in Russian Studies and has been working in Editorial for various government agencies, nonprofits, and private companies in DC, London, and NYC. She is repped by Sara Megibow with KT Literary and currently writing a creepy Sci Fi Horror/Mystery. She has mentored for both the Write Team Mentorship Program and Pitchwars.
