Lori Keckler & Silver Milagro
A former 2nd & 3rd grade teacher, Lori joined SCBWI in 2016. She had been writing stories since she was eight years old but decided it was time to get serious about publishing her work. Lori was a mentee for WriteMentor in 2019 and a Las Musas Hermana in 2020. With the help she’s received, she is ready to dive into the querying trenches again and pay it forward. A life-long learner, she enjoys writing webinars, podcasts and of course, reading. She lives in Austin, TX with her husband and their three children.
Silver Milagro is a former librarian, English teacher, and journalist. She has a master’s degree in Creative Writing from Johns Hopkins University and a master’s degree in librarianship from Texas Women’s University. Her undergraduate degree is in Journalism from the University of Texas at Austin. Her first novel was nominated for the Joan Lowery Nixon Mentorship in 2018. Her second novel was given an honorable mention at the 2020 Austin SCBWI conference. Milagro’s first book is out on submission. Milagro is a Latinx writer and bilingual in Spanish.
