Sabina Martin

Age Category: New Adult

Genre: Speculative Fiction

MSWL: YA/crossover and Adult speculative fiction that blends and challenges genre (horror, contemporary/urban fantasy, or low fantasy; please no high fantasy or space-centric sci-fi); plots driven by mysteries, injustices, and myths; complicated romances and messy friendships that raise the stakes and propel the action; queerness that characters define for themselves on the page. Show off your lore and historical research! Wow me with conlangs or teach me something new. And humor! Love to see some lightness even in gritty stories. Bonus for: alternative history, ballet, stories with planes, trains, cruises.

Sabina Martin writes YA/crossover and Adult speculative novels with wry insights into the world of academia. She is an author and academic originally from Virginia and has earned a PhD in ancient literature since moving to New York. Her stories reflect the diversity of campus life, the highs and lows of Higher Ed, and the magic of life-long learning. She currently teaches and advises at NYU, working closely with students from diverse educational and socio-economic backgrounds. When not on campus, Sabina can be found in the dance studio in Queens, on Duolingo, or in a cardboard fort with her cat, Salem. She is represented by Leah Pierre at Ladderbird Literary Agency.
